To style this B&W look, I took one of my favorite summer staples: this black jumpsuit. The School Bell

September 15, 2017

School is in full swing, we are almost to our fifth week of the year already?! Time flies in first grade y’all! I wanted to share this look for you teachers and business ladies out there that want a look you can transition from work to weekend.

This look is perfect for that fall transition in Texas. I am all about pairing long sleeves with shorts or skirts like I did here! It appears more “fall” without getting overheated! These sleeves on this top are just too fun, I am all about bell sleeves lately. I scored this shirt from TjMaxx recently and just love the different ways I can style it. I love it tucked into a skirt like I did here or paired with skinnies and fun wedges for a night out. This look will easily transition you from work to weekend. You could always swap the mules for flats for the work day, you don’t see this teacher in heels very often! This green suede skirt is an oldie but a goody! I am all about skirts/dresses with pockets for school. I love mixing colors and patterns that don’t typically go together, so this blue & green combo was a little out of my comfort zone but so fun!

Necessories: The accessories that completed my look were my green/rose gold Kendra Scott earrings and this brown cross body bag from Macy’s Backstage. The earrings tied in perfectly with my olive skirt!

let’s get casual

August 8, 2017

I’m back and ready to blog more than ever! I just recently got engaged to my best friend so life pretty much couldn’t get better. I am also coming up on my second year of teaching first grade and I am getting super excited and anxious to meet my new kiddos! I really want to start sharing more about me, teaching and all things weddings but I want to know what you want to read! So, I have created a quick survey for you to see what you want in the future on LPOC! The link is at the bottom of this post!

As summer slowly drifts away, I find my self so eager to already dress like it’s 60 degrees, LOL! I live in Texas, so that is a funny joke. Anyway, I get to this stage where I am over wearing bright colors and cutoffs and ready for layers and neutrals. Well, I’m there and it’s still 90+ degrees so you gotta make do with what you’ve got. This sleeveless hoodie is just about the best summer to fall transitional piece I’ve ever had. Besides it’s coziness, it is the perfect color and style to transition into fall. I wanted to go more casual with this look so I styled my top with these black athletic shorts(WITH POCKETS) from Old Navy. I finished my look off with my best purchase in awhile, these blush pink suede tennies from Adidas!

To accessorize an athleisure look, you don’t need much! I like to wear my rose gold apple watch since it’s useful and sporty! I love my rose gold band I purchased off Amazon for under $20(linked below) It dresses up the watch a little but it’s still comfortable! I finished my athleisure look off with my all black aviators and a simple rose gold/marble necklace from Kendra!

Thanks so much for reading and always following along with LPOC! I would love you forever if you took my survey below to help me know what you want to see in the future on LPOC! Follow the link below to take my quick survey!

my best fringe

July 14, 2017

HAPPY FRIYAY! I am so excited to share this post with y’all because it is featuring my new favorite earrings from Sugarfix Bauble Bar at Target! A pop of pink is sure to make any outfit more fun & girly and these statement earrings do just that. Read below for how I styled these fun fringe earrings…

Because the earrings make such a statement, I wanted to wear more neutral colors throughout the rest of my look so that the earrings still pop. I am all about pin stripes in the summertime and this pin striped, knotted blouse is just too cute. I actually got this top from TjMaxx this past week for under $20 but I have linked very similar styled tops below!

I paired this top with these fun, black scalloped shorts from none other than Madewell. I don’t usually shop at Madewell unless it is their sale section(lol teacher probs) and these shorts are my favorite sale section find from Madewell. They are under $30 and match so much. Not to mention, they have a stretchy waistband so they are beyond comfortable.

I completed my look with these simple black sandals that I have linked below as well. I like how they tied in with my shorts and kept my look more casual. To finish my accessorizing, I wore my all black aviator sunnies and my usual, Fossil tote! These pink fringe earrings are my favorite part in my look. I am loving Sugarfix at Target, especially for the price and quality. I love their bright colors and statement pieces that don’t break the budget!

summer series: little black dress

July 8, 2017

It’s Saturday and that means it’s time for some Saturday Chic style with Little Piece of Chic! This is the final post in my summer series all about the perfect summer dresses! This LBD is the perfect date night or GNO look and it is SO soft & comfy. Not to mention, it is off the shoulder which is necessary in the Texas heat. Read below for how I styled this LBD for summertime…

To get my date night look for summer, I started with my little black OTS dress. I wanted to add both patterns & colors to give my look a little something that pops and contrasts well against the plain dress. These snakeskin slip on sandals are from last year at Old Navy but I have linked a few similar ones below. I have never been a huge snakeskin fan but these are just subtle enough that they work for me. I finished my look off with some key necessories that you can read about below…

The clutch of all clutches. This Noonday Collection clutch is my all time favorite summer accessory. I have styled it in other ways in previous posts, check out this post where I styled this clutch a little more casual: http://www.littlepieceofchic.com/?p=3445

For this look, it added the perfect amount of color and kept my outfit just dressy enough. It also holds so much and is super easy to carry around. I cannot wait to take this clutch on my trip to Florida coming up, I know it will be just perfect for Seaside! This necklace is also from Noonday and I love how simple it is. I am all about gold, especially paired with this black dress. You can shop this necklace here or I have linked similar styles below. http://www.noondaycollection.com/shop/helena-necklace/My tan & gold Fossil watch completed my look like it always does, I have definitely gotten my money’s worth with this watch.

Thanks for reading my Saturday chic post, hope you are having a fun weekend! Stay tuned for more summer looks coming to you soon…

white blank page

July 3, 2017

It’s Monday and I am still in bed, I am okay with that! I am loving summertime because I am able to blog more and share more looks with y’all! I am a sucker for a good white top and this one is no exception. This window-pane linen blouse is just about the best $12 I’ve spent in awhile. It can be worn like so or even used as a swimsuit cover up! Read below for style tips & what my recent trip to Dallas included…

We recently had family visiting from out of town and wanted to show them around our favorite city, Dallas! Our first stop was to Houndstooth Coffee on Sylan Ave. This location is by far my favorite of theirs, white & gold interior with a really cool aesthetic. My go-to is an Iced Vanilla Latte of course. After that, we hit up some healthy lunch at Flower Child. This place is always packed and for a reason. You HAVE to try their lemonade and the Thai Cashew Basil, AMAZING and healthy! Then, we headed to The Perot Museum to finish out our Dallas day. I am not usually a museum gal, but this place is super cool and engaging for all ages. Finally, we hit up my all time fav dessert in Dallas, Emporium Pie! Y’all have to try their buttermilk nutella pie this summer, it is to DIE for! Because we had a busy day, I wanted to dress comfy but still look put together. Read below for how I did that!

I styled my white window-pane top with my summer staple, these perfect denim cutoffs from Madewell. They were quite the investment but very much worth it because I wear them almost everyday. I am loving the front tuck look lately and this white top tucks perfectly into a pair of high waisted shorts like these.

Because my top and shorts were neutral, I wanted to add some blush to my look. This blush handkerchief is the perfect summer accessory. I bought it at Target just last week for $6 dollars y’all, no joke! To finish my look, I wore my brand new Adidas Neo pink tennies. They are just about the best thing and they are SUEDE! I bought these at DSW for under $60 and they match way more than I thought they would. I like this style of the Adidas Neo more than the classic, they are not as bulky and look more expensive in my opinion. Shop my entire summer look below with Like to Know it or click the shop tab above to shop all of my looks in one spot!

Happy almost 4th of July, hope you have a wonderful Monday! Thanks for reading,

XOXO, LPOC

summer series: Red, White & Chic

June 30, 2017

The 4th, fringe & fun dresses, here we come! I really am having a hard time believing that the 4th of July is already here?! Summer needs to slow down a bit, am I right? To get ready for the 4th, especially in Texas, it is all about that perfect summer dress to make your life easier and survive the heat. There are so many sales going on right now for the holiday and I wanted to share this bright blue dress that is currently on sale for $29! This is the second post in my summer dress series and this one is all about that RW&B, or in my case, red lips, fringe & blue! Read below for my Fourth of July style tips and scroll all the way down to shop this look now!

I am usually dressed super casual for the 4th, denim cut offs and a striped tank. This year, I wanted to dress it up a bit and when I came across this dress, it was love at first sight! I actually have never really worn a dress this style before but I am loving its high neckline and bright blue color. It has texture to it which adds something fun and it is the perfect dress to accessorize.

To make this look my own, I had to add some fun pops of color and accessories that would complement the dress. This colorful fringe hat(linked below) paired perfectly with my blue dress and brown wedges. I am loving anything and everything fringe & colorful lately so this hat is my bff. I can’t wait to take it on the beach with me this summer. Along with the hat, I added some gold accessories to dress it up even more. I finished my look with some brown wedges and my tan tote to tone down all of the color I have going on.

But seriously, how great is this hat?! It matches so much and it is just so fun to wear!

We took this shoot in Dallas in one of my fav spots, Klyde Warren Park. I love all of the trees, food trucks & views of the skyline! If you haven’t been to KWP, you HAVE to check it out, it is a Dallas staple and the perfect photo shoot spot!

Here’s to fireworks, hot dogs and the RW&B!

summer series: Seaside style

June 24, 2017

Summer is for stripes & off the shoulder dresses, which is why this dress is the perfect summer staple. I will be posting three blog posts this month all featuring my favorite summer dress styles. This is the first of my summer dress series, Seaside style! I am traveling to Seaside, FL later this summer and have visited the adorable beach town before. Seaside is full of beautiful homes, yummy food & classy style. This dress brought me back to this beach town, the blue & white stripes, tied sleeves and off the shoulder style make it the perfect dress for your next beach getaway! Read below for how I styled this dress…

Because my look was inspired by Seaside, I wanted to keep it more casual, perfect for a day shopping by the beach. I have worn this dress before to a rehearsal dinner and dressed it up with some brown wedges. For this look, I dressed it down with these white huarache sandals.

Necessories: Rose gold watch, check! Blush cross body bag, check! Fun pink earrings, check! Oh and an iced vanilla latte to top it off! I love combining rose gold with pinks and blush to girly up my look a little. You can shop my accessories, OTS dress & sandals below!

Thanks for reading fashionistas, stay tuned for another summer series look coming soon to Little Piece of Chic!

yellow there

June 21, 2017

On Wednesdays, I wear yellow! Happy Hump Day, we are halfway through the week and I am so excited to share this post with y’all. Yesterday was the first official day of summer & what is more summery than the perfect denim shorts & a fun casual tee, not to mention this clutch that has come in clutch so many times already this summer. Did I mention it was made with love by a local artisan in Peru? Read below for more about this look & my new favorite company, Noonday Collection.

My current color crush is yellow, can you tell? This v-neck is currently only $12 and linked below ready to shop. It is a fun color & great fit for a casual summer day. I decided to keep the rest of my look simple as well with the perfect denim shorts(that is literally what they are called). They were more of an investment but let me tell you what, they are WORTH IT! They are high-rise, soft & super versatile. Shop these below as well with LTKIt.

As far as my necessories go, I wanted to jazz it up a little with some color & pattern. Thanks to Groopdealz, I am wearing these adorable, suede slip on sandals that are the ultimate slip on and go shoe! I love the grey suede that matches with my VACAY hat! Hit up @sewblessed88 on instagram to shop this fun, summer cap! I have linked a similar style below as well. I am all about baseball hats in the summertime. Whether your hair isn’t having it or you want some shade from the sun, hats are my go-to.

A little about the amazing brand that is Noonday Collection: “We partner with talented artisan entrepreneurs to make a difference in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. By developing artisan businesses through fair trade, we empower them to grow sustainably and to create dignified jobs for people who need them. Together we’re building a flourishing world where children are cherished, women are empowered, people have jobs and we are connected.”

How amazing is that?! Not to mention, their products are ADORABLE! Shop my wildflower clutch here: http://www.noondaycollection.com/Pws/homeoffice/store/AMUS/product/Wildflower-Clutch,2826,318.aspx

feelin’ blue

June 13, 2017

Summer is for cactus, fun sandals & anything and everything blue! I am all about turquoise lately which is why I can’t stop wearing this Noonday bracelet

I am going to share how to style a plain white tee with a few simple steps below…

This laced up, white tee that I have linked below is the perfect summer staple. I love the laced up look and it adds something more to a simple white tee. To create this look, I added a few key pieces. First, you need some fun flared jeans. I am loving these light washed ones that are ripped and flared! They are also under $40 and linked below!

Next, you need some sandals that can make a statement and these are THEM! I seriously feel like there’s a fiesta on my feet when I wear these and I can’t tell you how many compliments I get when wearing them. Not to mention they are super affordable and at a place we all know & love, TARGET! These sandals added the perfect pop of color to my pretty plain look. To finish it off, I added some jewelry and accessories including my blue bangle, Fossil tote & all black aviators(all linked below).

But really, you need these shoes in your life…

Happy Sunday fashionistas, thanks for stopping by!

XOXO, LPOC
