day date to date night!

February 9, 2020

I am here for all the girly outfits and Valentine’s looks for Galentine’s parties, date night, etc. that happen around this time of year. I love mixing red/pink into my wardrobe to add pops of color to my otherwise pretty neutral winter pieces. I thought it would be fun to style a midi skirt 2 ways for y’all, one dressed down for a daytime look and one dressed up for more of a night out look. Read below for how I styled this olive midi skirt 2 ways!

This olive satin midi skirt is such a fun piece to have in your closet. The color really makes a statement but it is simple enough to pair with a lot of different tops. For this first look, I wanted to add some fun accessories and pieces to dress the skirt down. I absolutely LOVE wearing fashion tennies with dresses and midi skirts, it makes it comfy, practical and chic. A good graphic tee can be the easiest way to dress down a skirt, just front tuck it and add your favorite jacket! The bright red tee with pink font paired surprisingly well with this olive skirt which is a combo I might not usually go for. I love testing out new combinations of patterns and colors to broaden my style! To finish off my daytime vday look, I threw on my white tennies and a fun hair accessory, this pearl black headband! Read on for how I dressed this skirt up.

Switch out your tee and tennies for a dressy blouse and your favorite heels and you are ready for a night out with your girls or that special someone. This heart print bell sleeved blouse brings my all the vday vibes while keeping it neutral. I love it paired with this olive skirt for a dressier, neutral look. To still keep it festive, I wore my favorite bright red lipstick for a little POP! These black strappy heels are such a statement and tie in the black in my top! This looks screams date night to me. Shop both looks below!

So which is your favorite?! To dress down or to dress up, that is the real question.

XOXO, LPOC

all the fall things!

October 20, 2019

‘Tis the season, am I right ladies? This is truly one of my favorite times of the year and I really want to enjoy while it is here. It is so easy to already start looking forward to the next season of life but I really want to be better about appreciating each season as it comes and living it fully! So because I LOVE fall and I am sure you do too, I’ve decided to make a fall bucket list of things I want to do this season before it’s over and I thought I’d share it with you. Let’s make this the best fall yet!

Fall Bucket List:

  1. Obviously buy the Trader Joe’s seasonal items: my favorites include: spiced cider, pumpkin spice seeds, pumpkin rolls, maple butter, autumn pasta sauce and autumnal harvest soup!
  2. Girls night in with a fall treat(probably the pillsbury sugar cookies with ghosts or pumpkins on them) while we watch Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown.
  3. Pumpkin Patch photo shoot with friends or your boyfriend/husband if you can convince him…haha! I really want to hit up Halls Pumpkin Farm in Grapevine this season. It has a hayride, cider, food, pumpkins and a corn maze for only $5!
  4. Football games of course!
  5. Dallas Arboretum has the most beautiful pumpkin display around this time that is a MUST if you have never been.
  6. Go on walks after dinner. I LOVE going on walks around our apartment and by the lake. It is my favorite way to de-stress and get some physical activity in while enjoying the perfect fall weather.
  7. Bake something festive and bring it to your coworkers! I love to bake(thanks Mom) so I definitely want to make something yummy and deliver it to friends!
  8. Make soup and cornbread. Linking our absolute FAVORITE soup ever here because it is that good, especially paired with
Trader Joe’s cornbread mix that will rock your world.
  9. Visit Magnolia in Waco for a girls day! I have never visited the Silos in fall and really want to try out the restaurant for breakfast before shopping our day away.
  10. Burn a fall candle, make breakfast at home and lounge in comfy clothes every weekend, YES PLEASE!

Fall outfit inspo(with links below):

Girls night out in Dallas to see Maggie Rogers! Ate at the cutest new restaurant in Bishop Arts, Paradiso and it was sooo yummy! Wore my corduroy pumpkin spice skirt with a heart print blouse and studded mules for the perfect edgy meets girly fall outfit. Honorable mention goes to my sister’s outfit because it SLAYS! The cutest leopard dress paired with a leather jacket and killer black booties.

More of a casual look for a Saturday stroll around town. Love pairing graphic tees with a jacket and distressed jeans and tennies for a comfy meets cute look. Grab this tee on my chic shop for only $17 here.

Another way to wear this corduroy skirt is with a cardigan or sweater front tucked. I see sooo many possibilities for this skirt and can’t wait to style it so many ways this fall season.

Pumpkin patch outfit inspo! Paired my pumpkin state of mind tee with a plaid duster and dark wash skinnies. Dressed my outfit up with my new fav booties for this season. These western style tan booties are such a steal from TJMaxx and go with literally everything! Linked below!

Happy Fall, here’s to enjoying each day as it comes and celebrating all the fall things!

NSALE affordable finds!

July 12, 2019

Okay, this sale gets alotttt of hype and I wasn’t always sure why. Last year was my first time attempting to shop this sale when it went live to the public! I do not have the credit card and always watch what other bloggers snag first to decide what I might grab when it goes live or what I would pass on. I am looking for things all under $50(with the exception of shoes) but I really wanted to keep my finds affordable for y’all and find the best deals!

Image result for nsale

Why this sale? Nordstrom puts out all brand NEW fall pieces just in time for the new season at a discount! Which is huge! It is also a fun way to get ahead on new or recurring trends you will expect to see in the fall based on what Nordstrom puts out!

Trends I see coming for fall: cheetah(again), snakeskin booties, chunky cardigans, platform sneakers, athleisure

I haven’t bought these items YET because I am waiting for the sale to go live to the public. However, I also add a wishlist to my account so that when it goes live, I can quickly add those items to my cart and quickly checkout, hopefully beating others to the items so they don’t sell out, haha! I have looked through instagram, stalked some of my favorite bloggers and looked through pages upon pages of nsale items and narrowed it down to these affordable, on trend pieces I think you will love! I listened to your requests and I hope you can find some new pieces for the coming season and year round pieces!

Let’s start with my favorite part, the shoes are soooo good! Shoes were hard to keep under $50 but here we go:

Next up: accessories, handbags, etc.

Sweaters and dressier pieces:

Basics:

Athletic wear:

I so appreciate you shopping through my links and giving me credit, it means sooo much! I have linked all of these finds on the liketoknow.app as well! I unfortunately do not get credit if you shop through the nordstrom app! Thanks for understanding and I hope you love these affordable finds!

hot dogs and fireworks!

June 27, 2019

4th of July is coming oh so soon and I wanted to give you a few ideas of what to wear! I am always leaning towards casual, especially on hot summer days and I’ve styled 2 RW&B outfits for a girl on a budget! Scroll down to see how I styled my looks and shop the looks at the very bottom of this post!

Outfit 1: Watermelons and Overalls!

For this casual 4th of July look, I styled my favorite pair of dark wash overalls with a fun watermelon print tank underneath. I love shortalls(just learned this term) because they make me feel like a kid again! Super comfy and a fun way to change it up from the usual denim shorts and tank look. I added a fun pop of red with these statement earrings(under $15)! Throw on some sunnies and a crossbody bag and you’ve got this look! Oh, shoes! These white woven sandals have become my summer staple. They have the comfiest sole and a cute espadrille detail on the bottom.

Outfit 2:  Picnic ready!

For this outfit, I went a little dressier(literally) but kept it casual by pairing my dress with white tennies! This blue gingham swing dress gives me allll the summer vibes and I feel so classy and vintage in it! It is so flattering and thin(important)! To make it more of a festive 4th look, I threw on my gold star earrings, white tennies and a pop of red lipstick. If you can’t find something red, I always wear red lipstick to keep it festive and fun! I also love the contrast of a really girly dress with tennis shoes, it throws people off in a good way ya know?

Hope you are feeling inspired to get festive for the 4th while staying cool and chic! Shop all of my pieces from both looks below or on the liketoknowit.app! Thanks for reading, I hope you have the best 4th of July!

XOXO, LPOC

mix it up!

May 8, 2019

Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is off to a great start! I shared a 2 piece set last week and this week I’m stying part of the set in a new way! I paired these striped linen shorts with a floral graphic tee to dress it down and mix up some patterns.

This look is the perfect spring to summer look. I always throw on a denim jacket if it’s in between seasons. I am also obsessed with this floral graphic tee. It is so girly and spring-y and fun! I front tucked it into these comfy linen shorts and threw on these tan slip on sandals and was ready to go!

For accessories, I wore my cream tote, mirrored cat eye sunnies and my sugarfix layered necklace. All of these items are linked below!

Stay tuned for the last post of how I styled this 2 piece set in a new way!

Thanks for reading and stopping by. Shop all of my pieces from this look below!

chic 2 piece

April 29, 2019

Hey, My name is Julia and I am finally writing a blog post. Wow, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared a look with you guys on here and I feel like I’m going back to my roots. I think time has gotten the best of me this school year and I just haven’t been able to spend as much time on my blog as I would like to! I know summer will give me muchhh more time to do this so stay tuned for more posts coming soon, but for now…here is post 1 of 3 styling this 2 piece blazer set in different ways. One of my main reasons for blogging is to share my affordable, fashionable style with the world and this look is one of my favorites possibly ever. Two-piece sets are very in this season and I am loving blazers so when I found this set, I was in love. Read below for how I styled this two-piece set for a dressier look.

To style this neutral spring look, I wore the striped linen blazer and linen shorts together with a cream sweater tank front tucked. I wanted to keep this look neutral and dressier so I added my taupe espadrille platform wedges that I RAVEEE about all the time on Instagram(linked below). They are comfy, stylish and match everything. I love how they dress up this look and tied into the tan in my set.

For accessories, I wore my new fav tote bag(linked below) that tied in perfectly with all the neutrals with this look and my white tassel earrings for a fun pop. One of my favorite things to wear is lipstick and this brick red color is the perfect color pop to my neutral look.

Thanks for reading and shopping through my links, y’all are the best!! Stay tuned for post 2 of how I dressed down this two-piece set on Wednesday!

XOXO, LPOC
