engagements pt. 1

December 22, 2017

We are fully into the engagement season and a little less than 6 months away from our big day! I am so excited to share our first engagement look with you all and how I styled our looks(yes, ours haha)! Scroll on down to see all of our engagement pictures and shop our looks below…

For our first engagement look, we headed to a nearby field with beautiful trees and opened space for a fun, fall look. To style our first look for engagements, I wanted to add some color while keeping it casual. For my look, my top was the key piece! I found this top at TjMaxx a few months ago and I knew it would be perfect for pictures! I then added dark washed boyfriend jeans and suede olive block heels. My heels tied in perfectly with my floral top and dressed up my look a little bit(and gave me some height)!

For Patrick’s look, I wanted to bring out some color from my shirt with his and his maroon checkered button up did just that! We got his shirt on sale at our favorite store, Old Navy and kept his casual in jeans and finished it with his tan suede Steve Madden shoes we scored from DSW earlier this fall(linked below). When styling for engagements, it is okay to mix patterns and colors as long as they balance each other out and don’t take away from the people.

Shout out to my amazing sister, Megan for taking our engagement photos, she is just the best! Stay tuned for more engagement photos coming to Little Piece of Wedding very soon…

XOXO, LPOC

my happy hour

December 5, 2017

After trying weights, yoga, cardio and other workouts, I have finally found my happy place at Barre3! I was introduced to barre3 from my teacher friend last year during my first year of teaching. I remember feeling exhausted and telling myself I am too tired or drained to go workout after work. But once I started coming to Barre3 classes, my energy was restored. I leave these classes sweaty, confident and energized. I realized that I love the group class setting where I am pushed and motivated by the women around me. Not to mention, they are always playing the best playlists to keep you moving. Read on down  for more about barre3 and why it’s my favorite happy hour.

The class is 60 minutes, total body. It starts with opening breaths and a warm up. After that, you focus only on legs(squats on squats y’all). Then, you grab your weights(1s 2s or 3lbs trust me it ain’t easy) for combo work(arms and legs) which is continuous movement for 10-15 minutes. This part of class is when you get that endorphin rush to push you through the rest of class. This also the part of class where you think you might collapse at any moment. After combo work, you finish out the class with glute work and abs. To finish off, you stretch out all of those hard worked muscles and take closing breaths. It is the perfect combo of pilates, barre and yoga and that’s what makes it barre3! It is also great for pregnancy, back issues and more!

The owners of barre3 Coppell, Ilene and Jaimie are the sweetest sister duo that push you beyond your limits, while making it fun and intentional. They so kindly gifted me this workout look with the comfiest berry colored tank and grey Barre leggings. They have THE best selection of workout tanks, tops and pants that are perfect for class. Did I mention you get to workout barefoot?! Yes, please!

Head to https://barre3.com to find a studio near you and your first class is free!!

Thanks so much for reading,

fall floral

November 22, 2017

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, y’all! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because my family always travels to Arkansas to visit with family we don’t see very often. It is our time to catch up over yummy food and lots of laughs. For Thanksgiving this year, I am going a little more casual and comfy, I am talking stretchy pants people! Pumpkin pie here we come! Read below for my Thanksgiving day outfit details…

When I came across this floral blouse at my go to store, it was my new favorite pattern. It is such a fun fall floral pattern that has all of the colors that remind me of this season. It is also under $40 and linked below, ready to shop! I paired my favorite pants, these black dress leggings to tie in with the black in my top. These pants are a game changer, y’all! They are so comfy and can be easily dressed up or down depending on your look. They have a seam going down the middle to make it appear dressier, which is perfect for work! Being in Arkansas, I always have to bring some warmer layers for the cooler mornings. You’ve seen a lot of this suede jacket lately, but for good reason. It is my most worn item this fall season because it keeps me warm and completes any look!

For accessories, I added some hints of rose gold with these Kendra Scott teardrop earrings and my Fossil rose gold watch. I then added some more black to my look with my Fossil tote and all black aviator sunnies that I scored for under $15! All of my pieces from this look are ready to shop at the bottom of my post so scroll on down and get shopping!

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all a good night!

city stripes

November 18, 2017

Bright stripes in the big cityyyy! My sister and I recently took a sister trip to ATX for a quick weekend getaway. I am sharing what I wore for our night out for thai food and dessert! Adding some color to your fall wardrobe can make such a statement and I totally recommend trying it! Read below for how I styled this fun, bright turtleneck!

When traveling, I love going a little bit out of my comfort zone and wearing something I might not typically put together. For this look, pairing these blush booties with this bright striped pink turtleneck was exactly that! I toned down the colors a little with jeans & my blazer. This turtleneck is the perfect piece for those warm fall days we have been having in Texas, over IT!

To accessorize my look, I added some of my usuals, my black tote Fossil bag, Kendra Scott Corley black earrings and my favorite black watch, this Daniel Wellington watch ready to shop below!

I am getting ready for my first Friendsgiving tonight, I just love these fall/holiday festivities with the people I love! Thanks for stopping by and supporting Little Piece of Chic! Have a wonderful weekend and Thanksgiving break to all my teachers out there!

saturday suede

November 11, 2017

Here’s to Saturdays and suede, am I right? This fall weather is just too perfect lately and it’s still warm enough to wear those transitional pieces before it’s full on sweater/boot season. I am all about skirts lately paired with a sweater or jacket like so! Read below for my saturday style and how to shop my look…

When I came across this embroidered skirt, I knew it had to be mine! It is just so different and really pops! I love it styled with a blouse like I did here or with a sweater tucked in the front to dress it down a bit and keep you warm up top. For this look, my sister and I were headed to brunch in Downtown ATX so I wanted to dress it up with my black blouse and suede blazer. This suede blazer y’all, it’s too good and looks way more expensive than it is. I have worn it almost everyday since the weather has dropped and I am not sorry about it. The color, the style and the suede just make it my favorite jacket for this season. It makes me feel like I belong in a city, ya know?

To accessorize this look, I threw on my new grey tortoise sunnies, this black fossil satchel bag and my tan Fossil watch to tie in with my mules(best Nordstrom anniversary purchase ever, they are linked below!!)

Happy Saturday ladies & gents, hope you enjoy the fall weather and thanks for reading!

autumn athleisure

November 4, 2017

It’s November 4th but the temps say otherwise! I’m over here reminiscing on last weekend’s fall weather in ATX, wearing this suede blazer and travel wear that was oh so comfy for a day of travel and shopping on a cool day! Read below for how I style athleisure in the fall with a few key pieces…

My sister and I took a quick weekend trip to ATX last weekend and had a day planned full of food, coffee and shopping/sight seeing! When traveling, I want to look put together but also comfy enough for a road trip. This look did just that! I am wearing Old Navy’s new pants, the Stevie, that is like a fancy legging that could pass as dress pants or leggings, depending on your day! For this look, I dressed them down with an oversized grey v-neck and my all time fav Nikes that I scored from TjMaxx that match EVERYTHING! To dress my look up a little for the city, I layered my suede blazer on top to keep warm and add some contrast.

To accessorize my athleisure outfit, I wore my usual, rose gold Apple watch and oversized sunnies! I actually bought these sunglasses when in Austin that day from Loft for $8!!! Such a steal, I have linked them below ready to shop!

Hope y’all have the best Saturday! Here’s to cooler weather coming back…I hope!

XOXO, LPOC

break the rules

October 28, 2017

They say don’t wear white after labor day, they say don’t mix black and brown, and they definitely say don’t do denim on denim. Well, I say who cares! Style is our way to outwardly express ourselves so how can we give it rules/guidelines?! I am all about pushing the norm when it comes to style and one way I do that is by breaking those so called “rules”. I am styling this look by pairing denim WITH denim because I can! Read below for outfit details from this fall look…

Denim with denim can go wrong fast so you do have to keep in mind the different shades to make sure it blends well together. For this look, I had a lighter chambray top with dark wash skinny jeans. I just liked the contrast so I went with it! Both the top and bottom are from Old Navy…of course. To add some fall color to my outfit, I added my newest neck scarf from Madewell that I can’t get enough of. It’s like a necklace but less chunky/heavy! People always say “I don’t think I can pull that off” and I say don’t knock it till you try it! To finish it off, I added some neutral with my shoes to tie in with my neck scarf. I found these slip on espadrilles from Charming Charlie on sale for $12 and they are my go-to lately.

For accessorizing my fall look, I added a few of my usuals, oversized tortoise sunnies, Fossil watch & black tote! Because my neck scarf had a pattern to it, I didn’t need to add much! You can shop my entire fall look below via LiketoKnowit!

thanks for reading and happy SaturYAY!

fall in love

October 14, 2017

This is me pretending it’s fall when it is actually 90+ degrees, not bitter. But seriously, we have to be creative with our fall fashion here in Texas because ya girl is tired of shorts and sandals. This white off the shoulder blouse is the perfect transitional piece that every girl needs in their closet. Read on down for styling tips and more…

To style my “fall” look, I started off with this white blouse from Maude, the cutest boutique with the coolest styles. I wanted my look to be pretty neutral so I threw on these boyfriend skinnies and my new favorite flats that I bought back in August during the Nordstrom anniversary sale(SO worth it). I get so many compliments on them and did I mention how comfortable?!  I can’t find myself to start wearing boots yet just because it is so hot so I make do with flats and slip on mules like so! This black tote bag from Fossil hasn’t left my side since I got it, it makes me feel like such a lady and it looks so classy!

Thanks so much to Shop Maude for this adorable top, you can buy yours here now: https://shopmaude.com/products/parker-off-shoulder-blouse?variant=37867949074 and you can shop the rest of my look below via LikeToKnowIt!

Thanks for reading and happy “fall” y’all!

you’re making me blush

October 10, 2017

I am so excited to be attending my first fall wedding later this month! I have always attended summer weddings so I am so ready to dress for fall! I am styling this mauve lacy dress for your upcoming fall event/wedding because it is just too cute, not to mention it is under $35 currently!! Read below for what to wear to a fall wedding…

When trying to figure out what to wear, I went for my current fav fall colors: pink and green! This pink dress is more of a mauve/dark blush but it is my go to color lately. I wanted to change up my look a little bit because I typically wear nude heels to weddings/events. I went for these suede olive block heels that blended so well with the color of my dress. I feel like this look screams fall without trying too hard. I am a huge fan of t-strap heels that don’t take away from your dress but still make a statement.

For accessories, you will always find me in a watch, and this olive strap on my Fossil watch tied in perfect with the color of my heels. I finished my look off with some simple pearly studs from Kendra Scott that add a little bit of edge to my look. I challenge you to go a little out of your comfort zone this fall, mix up colors you might not typically pair together and see what happens!

Happy October and all things fall! Shop my entire look below for under $100!

XOXO, LPOC
